The Pender Harbour Blues Society was founded in 2003 by Larrie Cook and Ron Johnston, with the intention of annual Blues Festivals.  The first festival was held entirely at the Garden Bay Pub and was considered a success.  Since then the festivals have expanded to include other venues in other areas of Pender Harbour, including Madeira Park’s Legion and Community Hall.  The Blues Society has none of its original members left and is now headed by local musician Chris Andersen.
